- Spinal deformities
The treatment of spinal deformities is a specialty in our department. We treat all kinds of deformity (all types of scoliosis, kyphosis, spondylolisthesis) in all age groups. We carry out diagnosis as well as conservative treatment (physiotherapy, spinal bracing, etc.) and all kinds of deformity surgery. We offer all modern surgical techniques using the latest state-of-the-art implants (posterior instrumentation and correction techniques, anterior instrumentation and correction techniques, rigid and flexible constructs (e.g., tethering), conventional as well as magnetically controlled and other growing rod techniques in cases of continuing growth, etc.).
We have established the Ruhr Scoliosis Center (Skoliose Zentrum Ruhr), as the treatment of spinal deformities is one of the major specialties in our hospital. We are also pleased to be involved in the Center for Rare Diseases (CeSER) in the Department of Pediatrics at the hospital.
We are therefore able to treat even very complex, rare, and challenging pathologies.
