Fractures of the spine may be caused by actual trauma and accident situations, as well as by nonspecific low-energy motion in the setting of severe osteoporosis. In some patients, conservative treatment is possible, including pain medication, physiotherapy and spinal bracing. Other patients may require complex stabilization surgery due to instability and symptoms. We offer minimally invasive vertebral augmentation techniques using cement or silicone, as well as minimally invasive stabilization techniques with pedicle screw and rod systems, and also complex open surgery with stabilizing implants and vertebral body replacement techniques.
